# ViewStream

> ViewStream is a managed video platform built in Israel by Interhost: live channels, catch-up recording with search over what was said, a VOD library, AI subtitles and Hebrew summaries, clips, statistics, a multi-CDN video delivery network (VDN) and an embeddable player. Everything Studio does goes through a public REST API, and a remote MCP server lets AI agents (Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients) use the platform with an API key and its scopes.

Anyone can open a free account at https://studio.viewstream.co.il/register (Free plan, no time limit, no credit card: video library, player, WordPress / Next.js, AI summaries; Starter is a paid upgrade in Studio). Live channels and custom agreements: email sales@viewstream.co.il or use the contact form at https://www.viewstream.co.il/#contact. Customers create API keys in Studio under Integrations → API keys → Create key (Engineer role or higher). Keys look like `vs_…`, are shown once, and are sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`.

## Connect an AI agent (MCP)

- MCP server: `https://api.viewstream.co.il/mcp` — remote, Streamable HTTP, protocol 2025-06-18, auth `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Nothing to install.
- Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http viewstream https://api.viewstream.co.il/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <key>"`
- Cursor (`~/.cursor/mcp.json`): `{"mcpServers":{"viewstream":{"url":"https://api.viewstream.co.il/mcp","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer <key>"}}}}`
- Claude Desktop: custom connectors need OAuth, which ViewStream does not offer yet; use the `mcp-remote` bridge (`npx -y mcp-remote https://api.viewstream.co.il/mcp --header "Authorization:${AUTH_HEADER}"`).
- 17 tools, each behind a scope (`tools/list` is filtered by the key's scopes). Read: list_channels, channel_status, get_epg, search_catchup, get_programme (channels:read); search_library, get_asset, get_subtitles, get_summary (assets:read); stats_overview, stats_top (stats:read); list_alerts, service_status (stats:read or channels:read); search_docs (any key). Write: create_clip (clips:write), create_support_request (support:write), regenerate_summary (assets:write).
- Resources: `viewstream://docs/{en|he}/{topic}`, `viewstream://openapi`, `viewstream://openapi/{operationId}`. Prompts: daily_report, find_programme.
- A read-only agent needs `channels:read`, `assets:read` and `stats:read`. Every tool call is audited as `mcp.tool_call`; limits are 20 requests/s per key (burst 100); revoking the key in Studio stops the agent.
